Dr. Zsolt Lajer LL.M. Attorney at law

He graduated from the University of Pécs in 1991. He continued his studies in Germany, where he first obtained the title of Magister Legum (LL.M.) and then his doctorate in law (Ph.D.). Upon his return, he became an employee of the State Banking Supervision and then worked for Commerzbank Zrt.

He has worked as an attorney-at-law since 1997. The focus of his work is on public and private law issues of banking law in the broadest sense, and he also has considerable experience in civil litigation and arbitration. In his work, he has also gained extensive experience in the field of real estate and construction law.

He is not only a practicing lawyer but also a researcher and lecturer. His publications are regularly released, and he teaches as an assistant professor at the Department of Economic Law of Corvinus University, Budapest.

In addition to his activities as attorney-at-law, he has gained first-hand experience in economic life as a member of the Board of Directors of Magyar Telekom Nyrt, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Telekom AG and Commerzbank Zrt, a subsidiary of the Commerzbank AG.

He served on the founding board of the now defunct Permanent Energy Arbitration Court; used to be frequently requested as an arbitrator on the Permanent Money and Capital Market Arbitration Court; and is currently included in the list of recommended arbitrators in general, energy, and money and capital market matters of the Commercial Arbitration Court, the legal successor of these two bodies. In recent years, he has served as presiding arbitrator or member of the arbitration council in dozens of high-profile cases.

He is a board member of the German-Hungarian Lawyers’ Association. In 2013, he received the “Golden Hive” award of the Hungarian Banking Association for his activities in the field of banking law.
